Fit Guide

Finding your fit.

A well-fitted frame should feel as considered as it looks. Use this guide to read our measurements, choose your size, and find the silhouettes best suited to your face.

Reading the numbers.

Every Denon frame carries its measurements on the inside of the temple, written as three numbers, for example 53-17-145. Each one describes a different part of the fit.

I

Lens width

The width of each lens at its widest point. Across our collection, lens widths range from 44 to 60mm, and this number does most of the work in deciding how wide a frame feels.

II

Bridge

The distance between the two lenses, where the frame rests on your nose. Our bridges range from 15 to 25mm. A narrower bridge sits closer to the face; a wider one suits broader or lower nose bridges.

III

Temple

The length of each arm, from hinge to tip. Most Denon frames are made with a 145mm temple, which suits the majority of faces, and a small number use 140mm.

If you already own a pair that fits well, compare the numbers on its temple with ours. A difference of 2mm or less in lens width and bridge will usually feel familiar.

Small, medium and large.

Each frame is listed with one of three sizes, shown in the details on every product page.

S

Small

Lens 44 to 51mmBridge 16 to 25mm

Proportioned for petite and narrower faces, with a compact lens front that never overwhelms. Consider Venice, Sophie, Bowie and Eva.

M

Medium

Lens 46 to 55mmBridge 16 to 24mm

Our most versatile proportion, and the right starting point for most faces. Consider Aiden, Carter, Julian and Victor.

L

Large

Lens 53 to 60mmBridge 15 to 21mm

A wider lens front for broader faces or those who prefer fuller coverage. Consider Courtney, Ana, Arnold and Karl.

How a frame sits.

Beyond size, each product page describes how the bridge is shaped and how much of the face the lenses cover.

I

Standard fit

A balanced bridge that sits securely and suits most nose shapes.

II

Sculpted fit

A narrower bridge that sits securely and suits most nose shapes, found on many of our acetate frames.

III

Adjustable fit

Found on our metal and titanium frames. Nose pads can be tailored by your optician for a comfortable fit on any nose shape.

IV

Face coverage

Described as compact, standard or generous, from a smaller lens front suited to narrower faces to a wider front for fuller coverage.

Shapes that flatter.

These are starting points rather than rules. The best frame is always the one that feels most like you.

I

Round

Angular, structured frames add definition and balance softer features. Look to square and rectangular shapes such as Venice, Harold and Arnold.

II

Square

Softer curves ease a strong jawline and defined angles. Round and panto shapes such as Sam, William and Oliver work beautifully.

III

Oval

Balanced proportions suit almost every silhouette, so this is the face to try something bolder, such as Courtney and Aiden.

IV

Heart

Frames that are lighter at the brow balance a broader forehead and a narrower chin. Try fine metal and round titanium styles such as Michael and Victor.

V

Oblong

Deeper frames with more height shorten a longer face. Butterfly and fuller shapes such as Louisa and Jade are a natural fit.

Our partner opticians can measure your face and fit any Denon frame in person, and our client care team is always happy to advise.
